Horse Sculpture

Here's a sculpture of a Hackney pony I've been working on. I like the way it's turning out; the impressionistic and looser style of sculpting seems to suit me.

I like it too Lesley! I think the looser use of the clay adds so much to a piece. You are doing so well with your sculpting!

I've always wanted to try sculpting. This impressionistic style in sculpture is my favorite. I like a less sleek, slightly unfinished look. Nice job!

It's wonderful!

Thanks Sandra! I'm really enjoying working in a new medium. I've been looking at a lot of different styles of sculpture and also prefer a less finished appearance.

Thanks, Silvina. I will have to be brave and take this one to the foundry. Somehow the looser styles look better in bronze, imo.

Hi Jan-thanks! For whatever reason the Art Muse says to sculpt right now; glad you like the result.

It's the movement and energy in this that gets me going. It's an inert piece of clay - but no, it isn't. It's a living breathing thing. Love it Leslie.

Thanks, Sheila! I need to put some final touches on it and take this one to the foundry. ;- )
