Finalist!

I've been selected to move on to the second round of jurying for the Hunting Art Prize. The gala will be held in Houston at the end of April, where the winner of the $50,00.00 prize will be announced. I'm very pleased to be in the finals, and it will be a fun event no matter what happens!

Leslie, exciting news! These things prove to us that someone out there values something we have done and I think, despite the fact that we might say, it doesn't matter, underneath we feel delighted! I am so delighted for you!

Sheila, thanks for that. You are right, it is a great feeling when other people recognize and value our work. I will comment on the painting that was accepted at a later date, but it is one that I felt was very special when I made it. I don't think it was appreciated at the time (can't comment further). I was grateful that it was selected; it validated my gut feeling that I had painted something worthwhile. Thanks!

That would be exciting! We'll have to wait and see; at least I think I've got the same odds as anyone else at this point.
