These very precise city scenes have an almost surreal quality about them - almost eerie. i just came back to look at them again. Did you have that in mind Leslie?

Hi Sheila! I didn't have that particular quality in mind, but it's easy (for me) to see how it might come across as eerie or surreal. I'm a studio painter who looks at everything in terms of shapes and design, in contrast to a plein air painter who might interpret the scene more in terms of his/her feelings about the location. I hope this makes sense. It's been analyzed and re-assembled to fit a particular viewpoint; maybe that's what gives it a surreal feeling.

Yes, it does make sense and helps to clarify something that I have struggled with in the past. Moving the outside into the studio must skew it into a different direction. Thanks Leslie! Always really enjoy your work.
