Dried Rose

Oil on Panel, 5x7"
I had some roses that were too pretty to throw out, so I hung them upside-down and let them dry. This was a practice piece for today. I think it still needs more work to get the "dried flower" effect, but I'm not sure if I'll continue with it. The panel has bits of copper leaf on it that were left over from a gilding job I scrubbed off, but I kind of like the textured effect it gives.

Hey Leslie! I just came across your article in American Art Collector. You've been featured in there quite a bit it seems. Congratulations on your well-deserved rise to fame!

Hi Dani! I've had some good breaks this year, that's for sure. I still have a long way to go, but it sure is encouraging to get some good PR!
