"Pan #1"

SOLD
Here's a painting for my new "stovetop" series. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about #2. That painting is much bigger, and it's still on the easel. This one is 6x12" on aluminum panel.
The background, pan and burner ring are mostly the bare aluminum panel showing; there is no paint in those areas.

That looks really cool. Leaving the aluminum bare is a great idea. I'd love to see it in person.

I love your job on the reflections on the side of the pan & the range rim.

Thanks, Craig! I had been thinking about painting on aluminum for a while, and the metal pots in the stovetop series lend themselves to some fun experiments.

B.G., the reflections are fun...way more fun than trying to draw perfect ellipses for the pots, pans and burners!

Aaaah that's how you do it!!

Gotcha, ....

I am starting to wonder how you painted those hippo's cat, or other paintings now. :-|

Anyway this one's great, it has a nice metalic look ;-P

Nice one Leslie. I really like your paintings with reflections. Not an easy thing to do and you do them well.

Cheers.... Andrew

Hi Andrew, I'm going to stick with the reflections for a while; they make for some great design possibilities. I'm really enjoying your work as well!

Hi Leslie, this is nicely rendered with the reflections and colors. Look forward to more!

Oh, and thank you for the nice comment this morning.

this is such a strong simple image,
painted on alu makes it even more special.

Thanks Rob! I just ordered more aluminum panels so I can make a series of these stovetop paintings; I'm pretty excited about it. ; - )

A very modern painting. Consider doing 15 like it and going to a high end modern gallery.

Bill, thanks! I really appreciate the vote of confidence. I felt like I had a breakthrough with this one, and I've already ordered more aluminum panels. : )

Nice job on this one! I like how you chose such a minimal palette and the cropping is really cool as well.

Scott, now I just need to do a repeat performance (times 50). : ) Thanks!
