Sled Dogs

SOLD

This is a 6x8" study for a larger painting. I still have a lot of compositional details to work out; the finished painting will be much larger and show more of the background/wilderness. Hopefully, I can maintain the feeling of the viewer being right in the middle of the action in the finished piece.

Great stuff! I like the colors in the sky.

The horse in your last post is amazing too! Keep up the good work!

Leslie, think this will make a wonderful painting and an unusual composition when transferred to a larger canvas. I love the Husky dogs; they're my favourites!

That's gonna be a hard one i guess.
I love the triangle composition, but i do wonder how you gonna distribute the focal point, or point of interest over the three areas. .... Good luck!!

AJ, I thought the black and white pattern on the dog's heads added a lot to the composition. I am still working out my studies before attemping to make this bigger.

Hi René,
You are right, this will be very tricky to make it work as a bigger painting. I hope all my planning will make it work!

Leslie,

You are are on a roll for sure, these are great! There is something great about the way you are capturing these animals. Looks like you are using more paint...something I have been applying to good use recently.

Thanks Jon, I am trying to work more people and animals into my compositions (and use more paint). ; - )
