Hippo In The Park

SOLD

In Victorian times, young ladies would ride their hippos through the parks. This painting shows a proper lady riding sidesaddle while her well-bred hippo steps out in style.

Thanks for the comment on my blog! It is a small world, isn't it? I grew up in Devils Lake, now living in East Grand Forks about a half mile from the Red River.

I wonder what Monet would say? Marvelously done.

Love it. Is it for sale? Is it spoken for?

B.G., you are so right-small world, indeed! Hey, you keep warm up there, o.k.? I think they need to film "Survivor" during a ND winter. It would definitely separate the wheat from the chaff. : )

René, thank you! Hopefully Monet would laugh as hard as I did when I was painting it!

B-thanks!

Debre, I may need to hang on to the original for a while, because I'd like to have prints made. Hippo lovers, please stay tuned!

Hi Leslie,
Your hippo series are a lot of fun! It doesn't take a brain surgeon to see a children's book on the horizon. Perhaps hippo travels the world meeting all sorts of interesting people starting with a performance in Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. Cheers.

Hi June! Yes, many different adventures are on the way. In the upcoming episode, we will meet one of the World Famous Hippozzaners and see him perform. : )
I may have to have someone write a book to fit the paintings-not the usual way of doing things, I know!

re: hippo in the park,

i got a hat the other day from clares accesories, it had this nasty old school tattoo on the side of it, a heart and scroll with loui or something and a swallow... i tried to pick it off but it wasn't going so i painted over it.

i used your image on it, that is why when i put it on deviant art for my friends to see i put it in fan art and not original artwork.. i also put a link to your page so people can come see you, i'm not selling this or anything it's just for me.

i love this page it's very cool, and well thought out :)
