Secret Stairway

SOLD

I was very happy with the way this one turned out! I concentrated on fitting the shapes together into a good abstract design; there's really not much detail although it give that impression.

Love the lighting and texture. The open door to an up stairway says something about hope and new directions to me. It really speaks to where I am right now.

Climb those stairs! I guarantee there's something good at the top.

It actually does make you want to go up those stairs and see what's waiting.

I really like this one, Leslie. Have you ever heard of the Danish painter, Vilhelm Hammershoi? A kindred spirit, I think.

The similarity was pointed out to me only a few days ago by another painter. Thank you so much; that is a huge compliment!!

There's something great about the light in this one -- makes for a really strong composition. Moody and symbolic . . . beautiful!

Thank you Rob! I think it's easier to keep things cohesive with a limited palette and lowered chroma; it worked in this one. I really enjoyed your paintngs, especially the cars!

David, thanks! Nice still life work on your site (and who could resist a haiku with their painting)?
