It's a great subject... I've painted utility poles and power lines a number of times and always loved it.

Thanks, Jeff! I never get tired of looking at that utility pole (good thing, because it's right outside my window). No doubt there will be many more versions of this to come. *Great still life work on your site, btw!

I just wanted to second Jeffs comment on what a great subject utility poles are. I've done a few myself, and hope to add more in the future. Your study is wonderful. You really get a sense of atmosphere. I love your leaf studies and the Red Awning.

You will probably laugh at this-I was thinking, "now why is his name SO familiar..." it's because I've been admiring YOUR (and Karen's) work on eBay recently! Thank you so much for your comments, that is very encouraging.
I really enjoyed the bio on your website; I also had a medical career and a brief stint as a skydiver!

I dig images like this because they're simultaneously formalist and naturalistic. That graphic duality is cooler than either straight up, IMO.
